I have no real evidence to base this on, but I'll play along :-)

24 June 2012 for Farmdale & Culver City Expo Line; plus Metro Orange Line to Chatsworth. It's my b-day and also the day the Red Line MOS-3 to North Hollywood opened in 2000.

I will guess Saturday June 16th since that is what Metro has on their website: www.metro.net/service/advisories/rail/ Expo Line Unopened Stations Station: Farmdale, Culver City Friday, April 27, 2012 — Saturday, June 16, 2012

Don't take that date too literally. It's only meant as a guess for the minimal period before these stations can open. It would probably be updated in the future. Metro doesn't have a crystal ball for predicting construction progress. Besides, even then, the opening day would be June 17, not June 16, which is the last day of service alert.

So when do we start the pool for the opening date of Phase 2?

So when do we start the pool for the opening date of Phase 2? Ill have two threads. One in the near future for a far off guess (ie: December 2031) and one closer to that date for a more accurate guess (ie June 12 3033)

At one point, Monica had said early 2015 but this now this seems unrealistic. Perhaps late 2015, perhaps sometime in 2016, perhaps in early 2017. Who knows.
Still no construction by the way. Hopefully it will start in the fall.

So when do we start the pool for the opening date of Phase 2? How about when we actually see some construction happening... So far, a whole lot of nothing has happened.

I see some sort of construction activity in the lot on the SW corner of the Cloverfield/Olympic intersection across from Ralphs every morning on the way to the freeway.

Still no construction by the way. Hopefully it will start in the fall. According to the project schedule handout it looks like maybe June or July to me.

Sure it could get pushed back, but hopefully not. We've become pessimists, but it was just a few years ago that the gold line extension went pretty much like clockwork up until a few hiccups at the end. I'm hoping for more news like that.

I agree, but the reason I say it could get pushed back is because major construction already has been pushed back from Jan. - Feb. to Sep. for Expo. When I asked Skanska about the Bundy Bridge, they said it "could" start in Sept. I didn't get the warm and fuzzies that it was set in stone.

IIRC Metro is still saying (in this months construction meeting agenda) that major construction will start this summer. We'll see I guess.

As I posted at another thread before, I was told by Metro that they are planning to open the Culver City Station on June 20, 2012, which was requested by Culver City so that the line will be open for the Culver City Artwalk. Unless plans change, the line should open on June 20.
Today they finally brought the digital displays for the Farmdale Station. Now, the only remaining thing is the TVMs. If they bring the TVMs soon, Farmdale Station will also open on or before June 20.

I know we aren't playing the bonus round of this game anymore, but my guess of my birthday was very close. Culver City & Farmdale Metro Expo Line stations will open 20 June 2012 - before my bday. The Metro Orange Line Extension to Chatsworth will open 30 June 2012 - after my bday. Thank you Metro for the presents! =)
