(I'm at work at the moment so I can't upload the image of this route yet but I remember most of it through memory.)
I'm not sure if this was ever proposed or is even doable but this is my idea for a line shadowing the 405. It would be fully underground (though maybe the portion through the hills can be in the 405 median)
Going north to south:
It begins at the northern terminus at Nordhoff St. and Van Nuys Blvd. and travels down Van Nuys, turning west at the 101 and then turning south at Sepulveda with a stop at the Sherman Oaks Galleria at Ventura.
(Another option could be a straight shot from Wilshire/Westwood to Ventura/Van Nuys of course).
From there it continues south on the 405 (with a stop at the Getty Center) until it passes Sunset then turns eastward to the UCLA Campus until it gets to Westwood Blvd where it would turn south towards Wilshire.
Continuing down Westwood, it would turn west at Pico (with a station at the Westside Pavillion) and then turn south at Sepulveda where it would continue south until past Manchester where it would turn east to Aviation Blvd and turn south to the terminal at Century.
Station Locations going from North to South:
(via Van Nuys Blvd.)
- Nordhoff
- Roscoe
- Van Nuys Metrolink
- Sherman Way
- Victory
- Oxnard(Orange Line)
- Burbank
- Sherman Oaks - Ventura/Sepulveda
- Getty Center
(via Westwood Blvd.)
- Wilshire/Westwood - UCLA (Purple Line)
- Santa Monica/Westwood
- Westside Pavillion - Pico/Westwood
(via Sepulveda Blvd.)
- Exposition/Sepulveda (Expo Line)
- Venice
- Culver()
- Jefferson/Sawtelle
- Westfield Culver City
- Manchester
- LAX - Aviation/Century (Green & Crenshaw Lines)
