The California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) receives much less than they requested in the recently adopted 2007-2008 state budget. Yet, work continues. Their current progress is best explained in their own press release response to the new budget: www.cahighspeedrail.ca.gov/news/pdf/2007/08-24-07.pdfAlso of interest: The CHSRA recently put up a detailed Google map of their proposed routes. All that remains to be chosen for the routing is the very controversial stretch between the Bay Area and the Central Valley. www.cahighspeedrail.ca.gov/route/default.asp(Also, the Authority recently held meetings for their program level EIR/EIS for the controversial Bay Area-Central Valley routing and the comment period closed on October 26.)

Hmmm.. Hopefully it won't get delayed that bad. The MTA is going slow enough... and we aren't really getting much done. But slowly and surely, we are.
