I was near the 3rd Promenade today and I saw a local (orange and grey) artic bus on Wilshire. I'm guessing this is new. Has anyone else seen this?

I see them on Vermont a lot nowadays. Even with all the 754 artics, the 204's in the old buses used to be crushedloaded when i would ride them (2005-2006) so that's definitely to aleviate that. I also saw them on Van Nuys Blvd. the other day. Not suprising that the highest ridership trunk lines are getting them because Rapid doesnt serve everywhere and there a lot of people who still use locals

Yup we had em on the 204 for a few months already. They're meant for high capacity, not just for Liner or Rapid routes.

The 204 and 233 artics were officially announced by Metro to start last mid-December; while 20 artics are not, so occasionally you will see them in service. I've seen one as far back as October 2006 for line 20; it broke down in Beverly Hills slowing down eastbound traffic.

Well we may soon find out in the next year or two. This is one of my pressing issues when we give our rider reports on various lines in the Westside/Central Sector Governance Council as of the crush loading on the 33-333 and the long distances that the riders take.
Even with Expo Line to Culver City opening there will still be plenty of riders heading to spots and make transfers ON Venice Blvd North-east of Expo.
