Riverside Transit Agency BRTIf you haven't learned already, the folks in Riverside will get a BRT line along Magnolia Av and other key corridors in the county hopefully by next spring. This Finance Committee Report has all the details. Like the OC Bravo!, RTA's BRT system will appear to be very similar to Metro Rapid. RTA staff has planned on using branded 40 foot buses for the service. Based on what I've heard, the stops will have upgraded features including "minutes until next bus" signs, and the buses will have traffic signal priority. I still have no word on the service frequency or span of service. Local RTA Route 1 runs every 20 minutes on weekdays and 30 minutes on weekends. This project has also attracted TOD developers along Magnolia Av, central city Corona, and Downtown Riverside. RTA staff has planned that this service start by spring 2009.
