The problem is that between Torrance Blvd and Plaza Del Amo it will probably have to be subway.

Today's Daily Breeze web site talks about the line to Torrance CA 10/15/2017. Talk about moving up construction for the 2028 Olympics. Also talk about going down the middle of Hawthorne BL in Redondo , Torrance and Lawndale. The decision will need to be made in the next six months. Going down Hawthorne BL would be a good thing.

Also talked about @ urbanize.la. If we're doing it the money saving way, then running on the RR ROW would be best. A station on the west side of the Target would be just fine. There will be pressure to run it down Hawthorne from the neighbors, though. My guess is that Metro will look to spend more money to do the dive-and-surface-and-dive-again route down Hawthorne. Kudos for putting a transit center near the Honda HQ and former Toyota HQ (maybe Amazon?!).

I was looking at a map of Torrance and I noticed what appeared to be an old branch ROW going through Old Torrance. It starts at Crenshaw next to the Harbor Subdivision, going east on Dominguez Way/Street to Sartori Avenue. There are actual tracks from Sartori & Dominguez to Torrance & Cabrillo in the heart of Old Torrance, an ideal station site! There appears to have been an old branch ROW from Cabrillo to Border Avenue to Plaza Del Amo. Plaza Del Amo continues with a ROW in the median until turning south into Normandie. I think this would make a great route and serve Old Torrance much better than staying on the Harbor Subdivision! Well, I'll dredge this one up. How about running it south to Torrance Blvd; subway on Torrance Blvd east to Cabrillo; surface running on Torrance Blvd NW to Del Amo, and run it in the Del Amo median to the Blue Line. This will run it past old Torrance, the Honda HQ, and the Southbay Pavilion. Plenty of development opportunities, especially at that site where the football stadium was proposed; I think that used to be a dump.
