Can somebody give me the link to the FRN story by Damien? I want to read for myself and see what Godzilla wrote about us, Interesting that i call Damien "Godzilla" If you remember the Godzilla movies, every time Godzilla got peeved he open his mouth and spit out fire and brimstone and trashed the city by stomping it all to pieces! And you all have seem him in action at the Expo-line meetings!

He used that on this present thread as well as some other threads on this board. He also used it on the Latest LA Times blog (wait up to a minute until the blog loads). He has probably used it elsewhere on the Internet as well.

The area west of 5th St and north of Colorado (including Colorado) is regularly gridlocked. Having lived in the area for many years, and seeing how frustrating it is to ride the last few stops of the Blue Line in Long Beach, I think it is folly to run it west of 4th St on Colorado. I strongly favor running it into the Sears Auto Center off of Colorado. At that location, it is still a shorter walk to the beach than the end of the Blue LIne is to the shore in Long Beach. And I second Darrel's query about a possible southbound extension.

^ When Colorado is gridlocked (usually weekends and at rush hour), the traffic is caused by left turns. A lot of this is people heading toward the freeway, and some of it is people making turns into the parking structures.
I would expect that when Expo is built, the city of Santa Monica will downgrade Colorado as a car thoroughfare, and will prohibit left turns off of Colorado. Of course this will just push traffic onto Broadway. Hopefully the city will have a plan for dealing with that.

Ok so what... did Metro get rid of a below grade option once the ROW ends in Santa Monica? I mean, wont there be capacity problems if the station is at grade (think Pico Station) i guess an above grade station would help but i'd still be for the below grade option.
