I'm starting up discussions on MetroRiderLA again, with a new initiative that has been almost two years in the works. It's called Open Source Transit, and it's a chance for riders to have a greater hand in shaping service. It's also a way to better learn about the process ... not that TTC needs help in this regard. In this case, it's an attempt to improve bus service connections to the Eastside Gold Line. The plans are offered for four agencies: LADOT, Metro, Montebello Bus Lines and Norwalk Transit. Please feel free to leave comments on MetroRiderLA or the e-mail address provided in the post, and if you leave your name and e-mail, the comments will be forwarded to the respective agencies. I'll post updates here when they are loaded.

hey wad, since you are more or less drawing atop the google map may i suggest a truly "open" mapping service. the openstreetmap project is a wiki style map with a wide range of uses. i myself added the gold line extension to the map I'll have to test-drive it to see if I can accomplish the same things that I have in Google Maps. Thanks for the link. Just a heads-up: I also did something identical with Phase 1 of the Expo Line. I'll release that after the Eastside Gold Line Open Source Transit phase is rolled out.
