I check the OCTA's page for their upcoming rapid bus service every so often and I discovered that it has been quietly pushed back yet again. This time to from Summer 2009 to Summer 2010. Our friend the Internet Wayback Machine has archived its first lofty opening date. "...is scheduled for completion in late 2008." I may sound like a broken record by now, but I was really looking forward to using it to get to school this year. I will have graduated by 2010. Bravo! Is it really this hard to run some friggin' limited stop buses? Of course, I question the ability of any transit agency to run buses after the state of California gets through with them! The OCTA has devoted a whole section of their web site to their financial meltdown.

This is sad considering the OCTA took less time to increase capacity (add HOV lanes) and rebuild ramps for the 15 mile SR 22 Garden Grove Freeway than it can implement improved bus service. What is it about public transportation that takes so long to complete?

I think the whole Bravo! system should be scrapped.
It's costing too much money for so little in return. All they need to do is provide limited stop service with the buses they already have. They could start service TOMORROW.
The new "next bus" signs sound nice. Maybe they could get sponsors to pay the costs of installing them.

There were lofty plans for Bravo!, but all Bravo! is now is a limited stop service, and they still can't get it off the ground. Bravo!: BRT or HAR?

Maybe it's time to replace OCTA's board?
