That's been a missing link in the Rapid system.
BBB calls their Rapids, "Rapid 7" and "Rapid 3", and Culver City Bus calls its "Rapid 6".

Yes, the missing link... South Bay is sorely in need of an east-west Rapid bus. This is certainly going to help.
The only other region in LA County that really needs Rapid bus is north-south route in San Gabriel Valley. San Gabriel Blvd (Sierra Madre Villa station to Montebello Town Center), Rosemead Blvd (Sierra Madre Villa station to Lakewood?), and Santa Anita Blvd (Future Arcadia station to El Monte Bus Depot) are all good rush hour Rapid candidates. Azusa Ave (Citrus College to Punte Hills Mall) is probably another potential route.

Long Beach could use a better limited-stop bus. The 7th street bus route has peak-only limited stop service (the 96 ZAP), to CSU Long Beach. Limited-stop service on Atlantic Blvd (the second busiest route) was cut a year or two ago - but that was rush-hour-only, as well.
If Long Beach Transit ran limited-stop "rapid" buses all day long, both directions, between downtown and CSULB, in addition to the frequent local bus service, it would be one of the busier Rapid routes outside of central Los Angeles. And I believe limited-stop service on Atlantic would also make sense, thought I don't have as much personal experience with those buses. Unfortunately, it would take new money and new service hours to make this happen.
