Cool! Wonder when they'll replace the '80s-style destination signs in the rest of the platform?
I also noticed the TVMs on the north end of the station and the new bright canopy above it.
I think numbering the platforms at Pico is kind of silly though, unlike 7/MC, it's still just ONE PLATFORM. The platform numbers also make the signage look too "busy."

I like numbering the platforms. There are times (admittedly rare) when it can be helpful like when trains are wrong railing plus the paint isn't expensive.

BART uses Platform numbers for their single platform stations. You can hear it in the automated station announcement in this video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuxfw3z-Bv4I supposed it helps people to the right side of the platform for approaching trains.

Would it help if they called it Track 1 and Track 2 instead?

You must not have any graphic design experience then Again, it's an island station. THERE IS ONLY ONE PLATFORM. I understand that there's only one platform, but I've twice seen people mistakenly get on an Expo train and insist that the Expo train was at fault for arriving on the blue line platform. People need all the help that they can get. It also gives some consistency along the line. Expo has plenty of side platforms so it makes sense to label them all the same.

Would it help if they called it Track 1 and Track 2 instead? That would make more sense...there's always two tracks.
