Restoration starts today per Progressive Railroading: www.progressiverailroading.com/prdailynews/news.asp?id=37763Here are a couple shots of the currently fenced off station: There is no indication in the article what they plan on doing after the restoration. The Pasadena station at Del Mar that was restored is doing a booming business, with two restaurants currently in the space. There are a couple other businesses right next door too, including a pretty famous sushi bar. If it's all about location, then they couldn't possibly find a better one... RT

I really like the idea of a Meuse and MTA ticket center. Previously I had assumed that the construction taking place was for the pedestrian tunnel under Lankershim. Here is how the train depot looked on Saturday:

This is nice. Palms Depot, located at Vinton Ave on the Expo Line tracks, was rescued in mid-1970s and now it's the welcome center of the Heritage Square Museum. Imagine what would have happened to it by the graffiti vandals in the area.
