Apparently they will be announcing 28 public transit projects they want completed by 2028 Technically, Garcetti said 28 Measure M projects, and Measure M projects also included several freeway projects. And if you are a glass half empty type of person, note that 17 Measure M projects already are targeted to be complete by/around 2028.

With large enough federal loans, Metro could finish all the Measure M projects in time for the Olympics. However, it doesn't look like Congress is likely to do much in the next year. For reference, here are all the planned projects listed in Measure M (this is also pretty much the list of priority projects from the 2009 Long Range Transportation Plan): Google Map of Measure M Transit

The city council and populace at large will push back hard on all those Lexus lane conversion projects. They are our freeways, not mitt Romney's, our time is valuable too and f all those rich jerks that think they can buy freeways we've paid for. And here they were just trumpeting about the triumph of not making the north 5 car pool lanes for the 1% only, funny to see them pushing more solutions for the elites while making the other lanes have worse traffic for the rest of us.

Very surprised about sepulveda (didn't think they'd be able to pull it off -- still am skeptical), pretty bummed about Crenshaw (just because I would use it all the time).

I think they’re planning on having Elon musk build the sepulveda tunnels in a ppp. He builds them train tunnels and in exchange gets right of way access and expediated environmental reviews for his car tunnels on the same corridor. Plus the tbm is already tunneling steadily away.

Worth noting that Elon Musk's Boring Company is bidding on the Chicago O'Hare-Downtown express train... so he's definitely trying to get into the ppp game.

Here is Metro staff’s report on options to obtain the $26.2 billion needed to complete the 28x28 plan. Ideas include increasing debt, using ExpressLanes revenue, using more city funding, taxing Uber/Lyft, selling BikeShare, using P3s, fare increases, state/federal funding (including Olympics-dedicated funding), congestion pricing, selling more advertising, delaying full electrification of bus fleet, value capture, etc. metro.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=6809708&GUID=4ED816D7-06F1-4653-B8E7-1607668230BE
