I know there are a few of you here who have been waiting for this news for seemingly ever, but Culver City Bus just announced they will release a real-time app for their buses on March 3rd. You can be a part of the beta test for the app. Info is linked below content.govdelivery.com/accounts/CACULVER/bulletins/2779fb8

Don't get me wrong... I'm really glad this is happening. But it's kind of ridiculous that Culver City bus is operating like a 19th century horse drawn carriage all this time. Mobile phones are so ubiquitous and we can look up real time train and bus departure from cities all over the world while waiting for Rapid 6 to miraculously appear.

The really sad thing is the original Grant Application/Request for Proposal for this went out in 2011. But the previous head of transportation decided other things were a higher priority and it got left to rot. Apparently they made an attempt between then and now which they decided wasn’t working and never brought it online. The new head of Culver CityBus has been slogging through it and it will now launch soon. Also, the Technology is better than all the others in Southern California since it will Ping Position every 5 seconds not every 30 seconds as everyone else’s does. Don't get me wrong... I'm really glad this is happening. But it's kind of ridiculous that Culver City bus is operating like a 19th century horse drawn carriage all this time.
