I'd like to see a bicycle "freeway" system, a network of paths that would connect most of the L.A. metropolitan area, totally separated from traffic, if possible. It would be limited to bicycles and possibly low powered scooters.
Construction and operation of this "freeway" could be funded through a bicycle license fee, perhaps $10 for four to six years.
Could this work?

Is this a good idea? Yes. Would I like to see this? You bet. Would I pay $10 a year for this? No I would pay $100 per year. Will this ever happen? Not in my lifetime. What a second. If we could get some big developer to see that they could make a lot of money on this, then they would go to the city council and have them pull all the strings necessary to secure the right of ways to build this...in exchange for funding their next political campaign of course. I think this can work!!!!
