I sure hope so, since he did everything possible to damage and stop measure R which is completely funding this extension. As Ken says so well - Thanks!

This foothill extension should have broken ground years ago. I remember in 2008 they already completed transit villages and millions of dollars worth of "improvements" in anticipation of the train that should have arrived.
Why it took so long, will be a textbook study of regional politics and budgetary warlord-ism.

These days, I am imagining that the country is significantly poorer. Ever since the loss of aerospace in Southern California I imagine tax revenues are comparatively depleted. I don't think Silicon Valley made/makes hte impact it's image might suggest. ...It's not a left-right issue, it's just that when there's less money all around, the programs suffer, whether it's education or transporation.
...So it take a heck of a lot of pushing and support to make something like LRT reincarnate with loads of competing agendas and priorities that leaders feel their consituencies support "more."
I guess it's up to light rail advocates to make the case and build the support ...as the leaders of this group have amply done.
