Eliminate all remaining "stimulus" funding. $45 billion total savings (no $4.5 billion to start California HSR, no Florida HSR) 2. Eliminate Amtrak Subsidies. $1.565 billion annual savings (No Pacific Surfliner, Capitol Corridor, Coast Starlight, etc) 3. Eliminate New Starts Transit. $2 billion annual savings (no Downtown Connector, no Westside Subway Extension) 4. Eliminate Intercity and High Speed Rail Grants. $2.5 billion annual savings (No ongoing HSR funding, anywhere in the US) 5. Eliminate Energy Star Program. $52 million annual savings (forget about appliance efficiency) 6. Eliminate Subsidy for Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. $150 million annual savings (more costly DC subway service) I looked pretty closely but couldn't find any reductions for road building, airport subsidies, or a scaling back of any of the war efforts. Must not be much waste in any of those areas RT

Must not be much waste in any of those areas RT It won't pass the Senate or Obama. Most likely we're just going to have another 6 month extension of the current reauthorization bill. Got to love those new Tea Party Republicans!!!!!
