Is Metro putting up any new station pylons, like the one above? I noticed starting last summer Metro tried to start removing the old 3-sided pylons withthe old Metro logo in favor of the new "Hollywood and Highland"-style pylons. But it seems last fall I haven't seen any new ones, and some stations have one new and ond old pylon! I'm curious to see what the 7th St/Metro Center one will look like, as the "wedge" section has to reflect both the blue and red colors of those lines. How will they do it?

Yesterday, as I drove past my local Metro station, I noticed that they changed the Vermont/Santa Monica pylon...AGAIN!
Actually, this time, only the wedge section was changed. It previously said, in Helvetica font: "Vermont/Santa Monica/LA City College" but now it just reads, ""Vermont/Santa Monica" in one of the new MTA fonts. The second pylon in the south portal of the station, on Willow Brook and Vermont has been changed from the old one to the new style.
I rode the Gold Line last week and noticed that the station pylons there have the new "wedge"design and also have the new fonts.
I honestly don't know why they had to go out on get the new pylons, with the wrong font style, only to replace them later...but then again this is the MTA, after all...

The Vermont/Sunset station now has the new pylons, as of 6/27/05 (I passed by there just the night before and the old ones were still up).
