i Ask because i have this idea about building a Metro link Station in Pico Rivera that would serve the city and other surrounding cities like Downey, and Whittier. i attached an image the Green is where the Metro link(may be Amtrack) station and a bus terminal could be build. the red could be a TOD with live work units. Also three bus lines could be routed to go to my imagined station. the blue is the Montebello Bus line 60 the orange is Metro line 266 and Metro lines 108 and 358 this section of track is being grade separated at Passons and is also in the process of being triple tracked. Serapis Street will be closed off. i think a station here would be better utilized than the commerce station on the 91 line. and it would be closer to folks wanted to take metro link into orange county or LA than driving to Norwalk. i guess this would be a dream proposal . How would one go about finding out the costs of a station? Attachments:

Judging from the photo, it looks like your sight already has some warehouses built on it that I imagine are not owned by Metrolink or any other public agency. So just the cost of acquiring that land is likely to increase the cost considerably. Perhaps upwards of a million dollars. I'm not certain how much constructing the platform and bus station would cost, but judging from Metro light rail stations, it's easily in the ballpark of $10 million.

I like this idea, more so because the Commerce Metrolink Station tucked away on 26th St., off of Garfield Av., is just so badly placed. It's been a while since I've looked at a Metrolink schedule for this route, but are the majority of trains still not scheduled to stop there? Pico Rivera just seems like a better location, plus Passons Bl. is being tunneled under the tracks.

Yup and the proximity to Downey and Santa fe springs makes it a nice alternative to driving down to Norwalk for Metrolink this area has so much potential to be a transit hub and live work location for the city. Could be a nice alternative to metro if the washington corridor isn't selected for the gold line extension. the grade seperation is complete on passons and serapis has been closed off.

The new station called Vista Canyon in Santa Clarita opened last October 2024. It cost Metrolink $23,000,000 to build and is lightly used.
