The metro board voted today on the official station names for Expo Phase 2. One last minute change did occur in Changing Expo/Westwood to Westwood/Rancho Park by Zev Yaroslavsky. Here are all the official names: Official Station Name
Palms Westwood/Rancho Park Exposition/Sepulveda Exposition/Bundy 26th Street/Bergamot 17th Street/Santa Monica College Downtown Santa Monica

thesource.metro.net/2013/04/25/board-approves-station-names-for-expo-line-phase-2/All looking good. I am happy about the Palms Station. It's also the shortest station name on the line, perhaps of all Metro Rail stations.

I'm not too happy with Westwood/Rancho Park. Should be just Rancho Park. Or Exposition/Westwood to be consistent.
Westwood/Rancho Park implies the station is in Westwood.

I posted this earlier but it was in the wrong thread so I'll post this here:
Westwood Boulevard / Rancho Park would work better, IMO.
And "Downtown Santa Monica" sounds a bit too generic. I would've kept the "4th Street" in the name, personally.

4th/Santa Monica works.

Nope, that would imply 4th St and Santa Monica Blvd.

Is Rancho park a part of the Lousy Ninby Group? if so we must change the name to Westwood only!

Santa Monica does not need the "Downtown" prefix. Well, it could be dropped in the future if desired. I see why they wanted to add Downtown -- there are three stations in Santa Monica. I like concise names myself. However, people do ask me "Is this train going to Downtown Los Angeles?" when I am at the Culver City Station instead of "Los Angeles." So, perhaps it helps to clarify things to have Downtown in the name.

Though, too be honest i never understood the Gold Line head signs. NB Gold Trains should say "Pasadena" and SB should say "East LA". "Atlantic" or "Sierra Madre Villa" isn't all that useful.
