The Santa Monica History Museum is excited to announce the return of our free Discover the History lecture series on Wednesday, January 20th, 2016 at 7:30pm at the Santa Monica History Museum at 1350 7th Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401. This first lecture of 2016 will focus on the historical rail lines of Santa Monica. The panel of speakers will include Ralph Cantos and Alan Fishel of the Electric Railway Historical Association of Southern California and Peter James from the City of Santa Monica. The speakers will cover the historical rail lines of Santa Monica including the Venice Short Line, Hollywood Santa Monica Line, Santa Monica via Beverly Hills, Santa Monica Air Line, and the Santa Monica Sawtell Line. The lecture will conclude with a discussion of the new Expo line scheduled to begin service to Santa Monica in spring of 2016. The lecture is offered free to the public, but seating is limited and RSVPs are encouraged.
