How to Post a Descriptive Text Link
Hey fellow board posters! Some of you who are new may not know how to post a descriptive text link (in lieu of just a URL). The coding is a bit different than linking to an image or YouTube video. So here's how it works:
1. Locate the Web page you wish to link to. In this example, we'll use the Transit Coalition Web Site.
2. Copy the URL address. 3. Log in to the discussion board and in your post, click on this button .
4. The text field should look something like this (with brackets):
(url)(/url)
5. Move the mouse pointer between the 'L' and the closing bracket of the first url tag. Type '=' and then paste the URL. You should get something like this:
(url=http://www.nationaltransitcoalition.com/)(/url)
6. Next, in between the brackets, type the description or title of the hyperlink.
(url=http://www.nationaltransitcoalition.com/)The Transit Coalition(/url)
7. Preview the post. It should look something like this:
The Transit Coalition
