Did Metro and DWP finish moving Utilities at La Cienega? We went By today and saw Poles and wires in the Path of the bridge. Are the wires dead and just have to be taken down or are they yet to be moved which will cause more delay? Take Care - P.

LADWP power-line relocation has been finished long time ago. These are some low-voltage and/or fiber-optic lines owned by multimedia and communication companies. They can build the falsework around them. Once the bridge is finished, they will either go under the bridge or be removed.
The only main utility work remaining is the sewer reinforcement (jet grouting) just west of Ballona Creek. This will be finished in a month or two. Then, the Ballona Creek LRT bridge will be built as well.

I know you guys were cursing the cable and the telephone people for the long delay! No kidding, thanks for the news! Here's my 9/9/09 photo of those remaining wires still in the way of putting falsework across La Cienega. At least they got the high power lines down earlier, which was necessary to put in the bridge columns closest to La Cienega.
