All, I have been reading that there is $100 million for non-HSR related rail improvements in California. Specifically, I saw mention of triple tracking between LA and Fullerton, and also mention of increasing running speed from 79 to 110mph. Does anyone have a link to where I can find more information on both the upgrading work, and the timeline for when the 110mps speeds might be seen?
Thanks, RT

There are apparently shovel-ready projects on the LOSSAN corridor that are just waiting for funding. Here's LOSSAN's business plan: www.sandag.org/uploads/publicationid/publicationid_1315_7191.pdfYou might find some good information in there. Unfortunately, 100 million does not appear to be enough to get all of the projects underway. For example, the total for all of the LA County projects they want is $1.4b. The good news is that it would help out with a lot of their near-term projects. Check out page 24.
